According to results of a poll conducted by Defend Wisconsin News Round Up at its website www.DefendWisconsin.blogspot.com following the news of Prossergate, survey respondents continued to very strongly support choosing Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices through elections.
Of the 160 people who voted on the question of "Do you feel that Wisconsin Supreme court Justices should be..." 40% (65 votes) stated their supported for continued elections, 8% (14) expressed their support in favor of appointing Justices to Wisconsin Supreme Court and 48% (77) responded that "Solution lies in campaign finance reform".
Of the 144 people who voted on the question of "Do you feel that Prossergate is a legitimate reason to examine how Wisconsin Supreme Court justices are chosen?", overwhelming majority - 75% (108 votes) - responded "Yes", while 19% (28) stated "No" and 5% (8) did not know.
Findings appear to indicate that while respondents feel strongly that Prossergate highlights the need to examine the election process of Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices, only a small number of respondents support taking away the opportunity from voters to chose Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices through elections.
This poll is unscientific and its results should be viewed as such.
