Corporatism in Wisconsin

The single most chilling provision in the Walker "Budget Despair Bill" is the one allowing the sale of Wisconsin power plants in no-bid contracts. I fail to understand why the average Republican on the street has such fear and disdain of "the government" which consists of "We the People." And, why do they have such sympatico feelings for corporations and people with more money and power than many countries? "We the People" have no vote, no voice, no power, no influence whatsoever over gigantic corporations except that little bitty bit wielded by unions--and not when that is lost. Why would we want to do a double whammy--destroy bargaining power and sell our resources? This article did not cheer me up. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/25/opinion/25krugman.html?_r=2&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss
