My Recent Follow Up Letter to Rep. Knilans

Hello Representative Knilans,

I’ve reviewed this budget and disagree with you entirely with your obvious disregard of people not just in your District but the entire State. This pittance of a gesture towards Janesville Issues and Senior Care informs me that what you claimed to run on is and was a total basket of lies. With regard to your work habits; I do not doubt that you put plenty of hours in but not for anyone except your radical few Constituents that somehow managed to get you elected and a hope that somehow the Koch Industries will take pity on you like the did with Dan Conry. Ooops! he is no longer at WCLO and it appears they did not help him either.

I told you some time back the Dan Conry would not be around for too long. It’s been said that politicians can fool some of the people some of the time but not all the people all of the time. With Governor Walker’s polls quickly dropping into the manure that surrounds him and many of this new Republican Party; your stay in the Assembly will be short lived. You grew up in Janesville and as I understand it worked as a line worker and later in Supervision. You went to our schools Our Janesville culture is and always has been a sense of LIMITED GOVERNMENT large enough to take care of the needs of the people and caring about others less fortunate.

You, Walker, The Fitzgeralds, Prosser, and Amy Loudenbeck are ushering in BIG GOVERNMENT as you strip away local government rights. Did you not take political science or study any history at all? You and your Republican Counterparts have laid to rest any thought of Small or Limited Government that pragmatically expands or contracts as needed. Not only have you strangled Local Governments; you are now embarking upon the creation of an Authoritarian State…Your choice to join the DARK SIDE is understood. The easy vote for your Constituents was not made. You are part of a movement that has been likened to another’s rise in power during the 1930’s and 1940’s in Germany. Those rascals first came for teachers, unions, and others they demonized as the cause of their woes. The idea that you would sink this low and not see what you have done is amazing. I prefer to live in a clean environment with great teachers for my grand kids and a police force that should not have to fear reprisals with concealed carry. I have seen ALEC’s strategies and it sickens me. I do not want a State that resembles Somalia and that is what you are helping to create.

With regard to future votes you need to do just the opposite of what your Republican Party says to do. I am sure you will be RECALLED so I hope you have another plan for your future employment. Your days as an Assemblyman is getting closer to the RECALL PETITION and the RECALL VOTE.

It is truly sad because I thought you would have been true to your campaign promise that you would fight for jobs, the I-39 corridor, and other meaningful solutions for the unemployed, small business, and the less fortunate in Janesville. You have not and your continued disaffection for your community is appalling!

Respectfully, an Independent Wisconsin Voter,

John Jenks

Hello John,

Thank you for your e-mail. As you may be aware I did in fact vote in favor of the 2011-2012 Biannual budget.

I believe this Budget is something the state can be proud of. It is good for the state and the City of Janesville. We are no longer kicking the can down the road for our children to pick up. For the first time in over a decade, Wisconsin has taken the first step forward in becoming fiscally responsible for its spending habits. We have found a solution to our inherited 3 Billion dollar deficit that does not fall on the backs of the taxpayers. I have worked hard in the past couple of months to make certain that this budget was fair to not only the residents of my district, but the State of Wisconsin as a whole.

A lot of positive goals were achieved in this budget. Goals such as saving jobs, protecting SeniorCare, protecting our community recycling program and obtaining shared revenue relief for the City of Janesville are just a few examples of what we were able to accomplish. Under Governor Walker’s initial budget Janesville received a 23.1% shared revenue cut. However, after I put persistent pressure on members of the Joint Finance committee concerning the importance of extra relief for the city. Janesville will now only receive a 15% cut under the revised budget. This is a difference of an extra 399,515 dollars back to the City of Janesville. This figure is the largest relief given back to any municipality in the state.

I hope this has addressed you concerns. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you in the future.

Representative Knilans:

Thank You for reading my recent Email regarding your next Extreme Session vote. I truly hope that you vote with your Constituents even if you get bullied by the Republican Party!
